Naviknot Multisensor Speed Log Series is a series of marine speed logs from Sperry Marine, designed to measure and display vessel speed in various configurations. This series utilizes sensor technologies such as electromagnetic sensor, Doppler transducerWAASsatellite/GNSS sensor to meet the needs for measuring Speed Through Water – STWMX575C DGPS CompassSpeed Over Ground – SOG on a wide range of vessels.

The NAVIKNOT series is developed for various vessel types such as passenger ships, container ships, oil tankers, superyachts, commercial vessels, new builds, and retrofit projects. The flexible design allows users to select the appropriate measurement technology according to their needs: measuring Speed Through Water with electromagnetic/Doppler sensors or measuring Speed Over Ground with GNSS satellite technology.

Three main configurations: NAVIKNOT 350E, 450D, and 600S

Reflective steering and azimuth binnacle, with by-pass arrangement Measurement Technology Primary Measurement Data
NAVIKNOT 350E Electromagnetic sensor Single-axis water speed / speed through water, single axis
NAVIKNOT 450D Doppler transducer Single-axis water speed / speed through water, single axis
NAVIKNOT 600S Satellite / GNSS sensor Dual-axis ground speed / two-axis speed over ground

According to DNV / MED certification,350E / 350EEis a single-axis electromagnetic speed log measuring speed through water,450D / 450DDis a single-axis Doppler speed log measuring speed through water, while600Sis a satellite speed log measuring two-axis speed over ground.

NAVIKNOT 350E – Electromagnetic speed log measuring speed through water

NAVIKNOT 350Euses an electromagnetic sensor to measure the vessel's speed through water. The measurement principle is based on the magnetic field generated by coils in the sensor; as the vessel moves through the water, this movement generates a corresponding electric field, which the sensor then picks up and converts into speed data.

The 350E configuration is suitable for vessels requiringSTW – Speed Through Waterdata, single-axis, for navigation, voyage calculations, integration with autopilot, VDR, speed display systems, or other devices requiring speed through water data.

NAVIKNOT 450D – Doppler Speed Log over water

NAVIKNOT 450Duses a Doppler transducer to measure the ship's speed through the water. Doppler technology works based on the frequency shift of the reflected sound pulse; the system emits high-frequency sound pulses in the fore / aft direction, receives the reflected signal from the undisturbed water layer not close to the hull, and processes it into the ship's forward / backward speed vector.

The 450D configuration is suitable for vessels requiring stable, high-accuracy speed logs over water and integration capabilities with professional marine navigation systems.

NAVIKNOT 600S – GNSS Satellite Speed Log measuring dual-axis speed over ground

NAVIKNOT 600Suses satellite technologyGNSS/GPSto determine the ship's speed over ground. According to Sperry Marine brochures, theNAVIKNOT 600 Seriesuses GNSS satellite technology for high accuracy and performance; the600Sspecifically does not require a hull-penetrating transducer, simplifying installation and maintenance.

NAVIKNOT 600S providesThe NAVIKNOT 600S is a satellite/GNSS speed log system, measuringdata, i.e., speed along the longitudinal and transverse axes relative to the ground. This data is very useful for port approaches/departures, ship maneuvering, docking, operating in narrow channels, or when monitoring the ship's lateral movement.

Speed accuracy ±1% or 0.1 knot

Line NAVIKNOT Multisensor Speed LogThe series has a stated speed accuracy of±1% or 0.1 knot, whichever is greater. This accuracy supports critical navigation decisions, especially during berthing, docking, navigating narrow channels, or when precise vessel speed control is required. For large vessels such as tankers, container ships, or cruise ships, accurate speed data helps reduce maneuvering risks, supports autopilot systems, VDR, and integrated bridge systems.

Large color TFT display, easy to monitor day and night

with aControl and Display Unit – CDULarge color TFT, supporting day/night modes and available for console or bracket mounting. The system also offers an optionalremote control and display unitin various sizes, suitable for secondary speed display locations on board. The display clearly shows data such as speed, distance traveled, direction of motion, system status, alarms, and related parameters, assisting marine officers in monitoring during operation.

Supports docking, double-end ferry mode, and miles counter

NAVIKNOT supports various practical operational functions such as

docking modedouble-end ferry mode, miles counter, , selection of individual damping for display and output, and,, selection of individual damping for display and output, and"separate damping" function allows setting different delay/damping for the display and output signals, ensuring data is both easy to read on the display and meets the requirements of data receiving devices such as autopilot, VDR, or monitoring systems.
